In my last post, I talked a little bit about how I’m preparing for life after high school so I thought I’d talk more about what are some things to consider.   Probably one of the first things you have to do is decide is if you’re going to go to college. Nowadays everyone can go to college, but some decide to take a break from school before going to college, which if you feel that’s the right thing for you then go for it. The thing about taking a break is that you had better be smart about it because if you’re not careful you could seriously hurt your future plans. The possibilities for what you can do after high school instead of college are limitless, but just remember to do productive things to help you later on in life.   Now, I’m going to focus on the college alternative of life after high school because I think most of you are leaning toward that direction. What I recommend for choosing a college is to first have an idea of what you may do as a profession because that’ll make it 10 times easier in narrowing down everything else. Figuring out your future profession can sound scary, but it’s just as simple as looking at what interests you and what you can possibly see yourself doing. In other words, go with your strong points. After you have that figured out the easiest thing to do is to research what colleges are best for that profession and which ones suit you the best.   Okay so those are some helpful tips to follow taken directly from my experiences. In my next post, I’ll talk about how to prepare once you have an idea of your future profession, as well as, more about picking colleges. I’d be happy to talk about any questions you may have so please feel free to send some in the comments section.   – Ruben
