Sometimes when you’ve had a bad day or just feel sad, frustrated, or angry about a situation, taking a break is probably best so that you can sort of process and figure out what you should do. This can range from giving yourself a time out (yes, I know that you’re not six but going somewhere to relax can help to doing something you enjoy to distract yourself until you feel ready to deal with it.  When I have a bad day, I like to just crank my ipod and block out the world for awhile. The point is to just clear your head and then, when you’re ready, deal with whatever obstacle is in your way. Remember that depression is not a bad thing, it’s okay to feel down for a little while, just don’t dwell on it because then you have a problem. So next time you’ve had a rough day kind of have this layout in your head: I’m going to relax for a while, then think about what happened and process it, and after that tackle the problem or situation.   For that last step tackling the problem can mean trying to change or improve the situation, or it can mean rolling with the punches or going with the flow of things. I’m really interested in how you deal with depression so feel free to leave me a comment.   – Ruben
