I’ve talked about the National Runaway Switchboard in some of my previous posts and what they do, but let’s say that right now a person doesn’t feel comfortable calling our number, 1-800-RUNAWAY, even though it’s completely anonymous and confidential.   Well, then that person can receive help through the NRS Bulletin Board, easily accessible through the NRS website, www.1800runaway.org. On these bulletin boards, anyone can post any questions, concerns, or even thoughts on anything going on in their lives. These posts are also completely anonymous and confidential, and no personal information will be posted to protect everyone’s safety. The bulletin board is even separated into different categories such as family issues, legal questions, peer pressure, and relationships to make it easier to post a question on a specific topic.   Like any other bulletin board there are rules that need to be followed which basically say be careful not to post any personal info, no profanity, derogatory comments, or any personal attacks on the bulletin board. There is no reason not to post a question because there are sure to be other people wondering the very same thing. Besides that, anyone can post whatever is troubling them or any questions they may have about anything at all. Someone does respond to questions everyday so people can expect an answer to their question, but due to the amount of questions on the bulletin board an answer might not come immediately so make sure to check back to see if you received a response. Of course, to receive immediate help, call 1-800-RUNAWAY right away.   – Ruben
