Last week I was flipping channels and came across a news show that was discussing whether or not cell phones could cause cancer. So since I have and use a cell phone, I thought it would be in my best interest to watch the show. Pretty much what I got from what they were saying is that there is evidence that cell phones can heat up cells whereever the phone is placed during use. I don’t know about you, but cell tissue that is being heated or at all messed with doesn’t sound good to me. Now I’m not a doctor so this may be no big deal because even the people on the show said that the heating of cells caused by cell phones haven’t shown evidence of causing cancer. Still I worry that further research could lead to the conclusion that it could lead to cancer and then we all have tumors on the sides of our heads.   Then again if that happens I’m not too worried because I’m not one of those people that always has their cell phone glued to their face, and besides most teens text more than they talk on their cell phones, so maybe that means there’s less of a risk. The more I think about it the less I’m worried about it since nowadays, what doesn’t eventually lead to risk of cancer. For all I know we could find out iPods can cause cancer, which might have a bigger effect on our population. Even though I would like to be updated on all possible studies linking phones and cancer there are more pressing battles out there like global warming or even more important finding the right college.   – Ruben
