I don’t know how informed you are with the upcoming presidential election, but just in case you haven’t been keeping up with the news I think it’s time you start. Now I know that this upcoming presidential election shows how far we’ve come as a country having an African American as our next president becoming very likely. Those are great reasons you should be informed about the upcoming presidential election; as for me, I do it for the drama.   You’re probably thinking how dramatic can a presidential race be? Well, that just shows how uninformed you are because everything that going on in the presidential race right now is more entertainment than most TV shows. Unfortunately, the biggest drama involves the Democrats and Obama. In the beginning, it was the fierce battle between Hillary Clinton and Obama to get the Democratic presidential nomination, which could be compared to the political version of American Gladiators. Their debates and campaigning was pretty fun to watch, but in the end, Obama is likely to receive the nomination.   Then the real drama started, but from unexpected sources. Automatically you would think that Obama’s major opponent would be John McCain, the Republican presidential nominee, but that is not the case at least for the most part. His biggest problems are stemming from his church pastor, trying to convince Hillary supporters to vote for him, and controversial messages from leaders in the African American community to highly respectable magazines. It seems so unfair to Obama especially since the only thing McCain has going against him is that he’s pretty darn old, his wife looks kind of like an ice queen, and that he’s a Republican. If you haven’t been keeping up with the election it’s really time for you to start because it’s better than anything they can come up with on cable.   – Ruben
