So summer is drawing to a close for many high school students. For some school has already begun and teachers have already asked them the obligatory question: What have you done this summer?   My answer will be a little longer than usual, and by “usual” I mean that I normally respond with either a grunt to indicate that very little has occurred over the summer or with “Nothing interesting.” But this being my last summer before senior year, it’s actually been pretty eventful.   I’m not sure my teachers will really “get” my answer, though. I didn’t go on an exhilarating trip through Europe, I didn’t go hiking through the Andes or anything like that. In a sense, I did travel and explore, but it was an exploration of my self rather than a hike through mountains: my personality, my abilities, and my sense of purpose for this life.   (I’ll look back at this someday and comment how cheesy I come across as, but I’ll just pat myself on the back for trying to capture something in words that cannot easily be expressed in language to begin with).   What have you done this summer? Is there anything you wish you could have done?
