This month is perhaps the most stressful one in the entire school year for myself and my classmates. It is simultaneously the month some of us hear back from colleges and universities and also the month of “mocks” (practice exams for really important tests to come; don’t be fooled by the name, they count for a lot in our grades). People can be snippy and just tense in general because of everything that’s happening.   We all have different ways to deal with stress in our lives. Vivian, in an earlier post, talked about adopting a hobby like knitting or making paper crafts to relieve stress. But sometimes the ways we deal (or don’t deal) with stress can be unhealthy as well.   I’ve alienated several people in my life by snapping at them because I didn’t take the time to deal with stress well enough. Since sophomore year, I’ve been trying to look at things from a more optimistic and (sometimes) humorous perspective so that the stuff that seems overwhelming isn’t as stress-inducing. I’ve also begun to face what may happen if my anxieties are realized. After all, when I don’t confront those possibilities or problems, or try to look at them from a different perspective, I keep everything bottled up until I just explode at someone.   What are some other healthy ways to deal with stress?
