I have a confession to make that will probably shock some of you to your very core: I don’t have a Facebook account.  I know, I’m a freak!   I consider myself someone who is in touch with contemporary culture, but I just never really got into the whole social networking craze. I guess the reason is that I don’t feel comfortable putting all my business online, and I’m overly paranoid. Anyway, every time I tell someone the horrifying truth I typically get a shocked reaction, which I’ve gotten used to over time. Yet, I still keep that piece of information to myself whenever possible to avoid a long conversation although at times I do feel like I’m alone in my decision.   To most people someone that doesn’t have a MySpace or Facebook is a person that is somehow disturbed or abnormal. I can’t be the only one out there, right? What’s even more embarrassing is that my 50-year-old father has a Facebook and we have the same name so whenever someone searches for me they are connected to my dad. That fact right there is the icing on the top.   -Ruben
