Is anyone else already sick of Twitter? It has been around since 2007, but there seems to have be a Twitter explosion the past couple months. I personally feel that there isn’t a single thing that I could do important enough to have to announce to the entire world. Many celebrities have Twitters, which is understandable since it’s just another way to connect with their fans and seem more approachable. This exception however does not apply to my friends. I mean I get it, you do stuff, and so do I! I just don’t feel it necessary to scream it from the rooftops. If you have a brilliant thought like turning cheese into a pollutant-free energy source then alter the media. If you have an opinion or general though about life then that’s just dandy, but you’ll have to excuse me as I continue to live my life. Twitter could be described as the voice of the people, and apparently, “the people” just talk for the sake of talking. Seriously, no great earth shattering epiphany will stem from Twitter. The only thing it’s teaching us is how to blurt unedited jargon into the virtual ether, and disregard the power of words. When everyone constantly writes about everything, how will we know what’s important?   – Ruben

You’ve summed up my entire argument for why Twitter is meaningless. The only reason we hear about it is because journalists are fascinated by it.
