It’s funny to think back to childhood and realize how far we’ve come in terms of the technology we deal with every day. It’s even funnier to notice how we can’t really think back that far because we can’t not think of a time without insanely small cell phones, the new wonders of the internet, and every engineering marvel that the world has popped out over the years. I think that worries me in a way, more so for the younger kids than ourselves. They’ve always known mp3 players and the like; we gave up Walkmans and CD players for them, so we know what it’s like to not have them. Still, I think we’re all dependent on them in a sense. What would we do if the internet failed to exist, or TVs stopped working entirely; if wireless was a word that we never learned? I can’t even imagine a world without those things, but in a way, I want to. No culture shock for me if it all goes down the tube. Could any of you do a world without the gadgets we’ve grown so accustomed to?   – Eric
