Ya srsly. The increasing use of internet lingo amongst teens and other internet users is evident. Many of us are able to distinguish between what to use on the internet versus what to use on a paper, however it is still a worrying situation to see the responses of many teens online being something such as “hey how r u todai?” or “cuz i dun wanna”. Of course, hopefully, they do not commit the same “mistakes” or utilize the same lingo in formal papers for school or application essays. This is especially dangerous for those who do not have spellcheck and grammar check in their software — which may lead the poor teen astray in believing that what they are typing is actually correct. As much as it is convenient to use short-hand internet lingo, just be careful not to use it in other situations as well! Cya & TTYL (In other words, see you and talk to you later)! – Vivian
