My mom is starting to feel old. My dad IS old (by certain standards). I’m sure some of my high school teachers who grew up in the ’80s are feeling old. Why? Because our generation (us young ‘uns, that is) is beginning to adopt some of the styles and even (gasp!) the music of the ’80s. (Though apparently the ’80s “comeback” started years ago). At some clothing stores, there are ruffle dresses, oversized clothes, neon-colored leggings, and other things associated with the 1980s. I swear I saw someone sporting an 80s hairdo, complete with the neon leggings, oversized clothes, oversized glasses…it’s like bumping into someone from a different time period. What the heck am I going to tell MY children about the fashion of the early 21st century when I’M middle-aged? “There were a lot of comebacks, throwbacks, and retro-inspired stuff in general. We even had a comeback that was really a throwback to a throwback.” – Allyson
