A shocking incident occurred just a few days ago. A 15-year old was burned by five other teens using rubbing alcohol and a lighter over a video game and a bicycle. The 15-year old borrowed $40 for a video game from one of the five teens and never paid it back, so the teen got together a group to try and steal the 15-year old’s father’s $500 custom bicycle. The 15-year old caught them and was about to report the incident, which led the group to pour rubbing alcohol and flick a lighter at him. The 15-year old had to jump into a pool to stop the fire but still suffered many burns all over his body. Although this is only one case, but it seems to bring up an important issue of teen violence. This incident was not only on a magnitude that should not have been reached, but it was centered around mere material possessions. Personally, I’m appalled. I don’t think this should have happened, but I guess things like this do happen although I’m absolutely sure wouldn’t want to see more of it. – Vivian
