November is one of my favorite months. Not only does it bring Thanksgiving and National Runaway Prevention Month activities, but it also includes a slew of really terrific holidays and observances. It is the official Pomegranate month, Sweet Potato month, and Peanut Butter Lovers month. To ward off the incoming chill, presumably, it’s also called NoShavember, an annual event during which participants cultivate facial hair. Not only do we get to honor a variety of delicious and underappreciated foods, we get an extra hour to do so. Daylight Savings Time ended last Sunday, which was worth the inevitable confusion it wrought. After initially being really confused by the mixed messages I was receiving by the microwave and television clocks, I took full advantage of the time left over, though, to be fair, it wasn’t much after I figured everything out. If you’re a sports fan, it’s hard not to be excited, as there’s baseball, football, hockey, and basketball to pick from. The impending cold notwithstanding, November is sure to be great. – Will
