Whoa. That’s a lot of bulletin board. Ours isn’t that overwhelming.

Bulletin boards are really useful sources of information. But cork is pretty ugly, and tacks invariably get lost, stepped on, and cursed. That’s why the National Runaway Switchboard (NRS) set up an online “bulletin board,” where anyone can ask questions and find answers about questions regarding family issues, legal issues, or relationships. Every question is read thoroughly and in a timely fashion by someone trained to help youth in crisis or those affected by them. Then they offer suggestions about what to do, where to go, and who to talk to, questions to supply more information in order to get better assistance, and supportive information to help out the poster who’s in a stressful situation. Not everyone can call in, and NRS recognizes that. The bulletin boards can be accessed online and are like email, so the time commitment involved in a phone call isn’t needed. Plus, there aren’t any staples, papers, or tacks necessary.
