I am adopted from the Marshall Islands, which is near the Philippines. To be a little bit more detailed, I was born on the island Majuro Atoll, the capital or something of the islands. I was 2 months old when I was adopted, and that was October 14, the birthday of my 3 year old niece. My brother really did not except me, and he still does not like me that much. Sammy Alferd, a guy that is in the 7th grade in my school, was adopted too, from the same place. Being adopted is not so bad, and I’m saying this because some of my friends would think that it would be scary to be adopted. They’d feel like the freak of the family. Well, for those of you who are adopted and do feel this way, you should feel proud. Proud to be different. This feeling bad thing barely ever comes to my mind. Why? Well because I am proud to be different by being adopted. It is like on the television show, where the guy thinks he is ugly ( which he is not, just that his breath smells) and his friend makes him feel better. He does that by telling to scream to the ocean that he is ugly and he is proud. ” I’m ugly and I’m proud!” he says. So if you feel bad about being adopted, you should say ” I’m adopted and I’m proud!” So to conclude this adoption topic, I’m here to say… “I’m adopted and I’m proud!”
