Peer pressure is one thing that all teens have in common. You can’t escape it; it is everywhere. Everyone wants to fit in. People are influenced by peers because they want to fit in. As you become more independent, your peers naturally play a greater role in your life. Responding to peer pressure is part of human nature. There are ways to handle peer pressure.Know where you stand on key issues such as: sex, drugs, and alcohol, do not allow anybody to make you deviate from your position. Never be afraid to speak up and let others your boundaries. Think of yourself as a leader and act accordingly. The more you see yourself in a leadership role, the more comfortable you feel asserting your opinions and feelings. When you feel uncomfortable about doing something, or you think twice about doing it, you probably have no business doing it. Sometimes you have to know when to say no, and live above the influence.
