Today is the National Runaway Prevention Month Day of Action. Here in Chicago, members of the Street Team and other volunteers will be on the Magnificent Mile outside of the WGN Radio Booth from 4pm to 6pm to promote awareness about runaway prevention. We will be passing out green light bulbs for people to put out on their porch to raise awareness and to show their support for runaway and homeless youth as a part of the Green Light Project. Home Free wallet cards will also be passed out during this time with more relevant information. Personally, I’ve been out there for the past two years and it’s not easy to get people to stop for a minute to hear about NRS and runaway prevention. So, if you’re around the area and have some free time to spare, drop by and visit to show your support. It’ll mean a lot to us! If you’re not in Chicago and want to participate, follow this link to show your support on Facebook!
