Black Friday is coming up soon and many people are probably excited about the deals. However, this is also a time when unethical ‘merchants’ may try to sneak scams in. People, especially kids and teens whose parents don’t buy them everything they want, are likely to fall for those pages that say “free ____ (insert electronic name or product name here)” for filling out some surveys. It’s the holiday season, they may think, oh even with the discounts I can’t afford this but I really want it; so maybe I should give a shot in this, there’s no harm — or so you think. These scams take your information, but people rarely win anything, and even if they are informed that they did, it is often near impossible to claim the prizes. Therefore, the next time you see this kind of page, you should take extra caution not to let your information be taken as they may use it for something that may wreck your credit or cause you to be swamped with spam.
