I feel that trust is one of the most important bonds people form with one another. The foundation for all types of relationships revolves around trust. These include employment, family, friends, lovers, and business transactions just to name a few. How do we know whether to trust someone or not? I find it fairly simple. If the person has yours and their best interests at heart, and refuses to harm you or themselves in the process of gaining this, then that person is to be trusted. This, however, can be hard to determine especially with conniving or criminally brilliant people. These are people that are constantly looking to improve their situation regardless of the cost to others but extremely sensitive to the cost to themselves. It is hard to determine if someone is this way and honestly the best person to trust with your goals and wants is yourself. My suggestion is that if you feel you wish to trust someone gradually step up the responsibilities that you lend to the person and see how they handle them. Do they hurt you and somehow gain in the process? Then work with them no further. Are they making constant excuses as to why they were not able to complete what they told you they would? Do not trust them at all. Over all trust takes a lot of work and that work is generally very evident if we take the time out to look at a situation objectively.
