As I try and decide what classes to take next semester, I came across this one seminar about music therapy and how it can be used in therapy. Even though I haven’t taken the class yet, I would say that listening to the right type of music will help people de-stress and maybe even cheer them up. Listening to music is a good way for de-stressing as long as you keep the volume at a level that doesn’t hurt your ears — and if it does, it probably isn’t a good thing. But for the most part, it’s better than trying to eat it away or get angry and frustrated or worse, hurt yourself in the process. Of course, there are other ways for de-stressing. For example, you can also exercise for some de-stressing — I think sweating it out would also help you blow off some stress. Either way, if you’re feeling stressed, like I am right now about class scheduling, it’s best to find a healthy and non-harmful way to relieve stress.
