How much is enough? Lately I’ve been getting 5-6 hours of sleep at night because I want to study for the two exams I have soon and it’s literally killing me in the mornings for classes. Problem is, I used to get even less sleep due to a full schedule and longer travel times to my high school but I survived way better — I was able to stay up longer and work for longer hours without wanting to go back to sleep again. Now in college, I am totally beat when I get 5-6 hours of sleep versus the 3-4 hours or less I got in high school. Is it just psychological that right now I want more sleep than ever? Or is it just that I got used to getting more sleep again over the summer and the habit stuck? Either way, I really wish we didn’t need sleep as much as we do to let our bodies recuperate. And apparently, “making up for it” over the weekends isn’t a good option either because it doesn’t really make up for anything and just messes with your sleep cycle even more. So, everyone else who thought the same thing as me, don’t try it! Try to manage your time better instead.
