I thought high school farewells were bad — but I forgot that there were going to be more farewells later in my life. Like in college. In college you get a lot more chances to meet people of different grade levels because classes are so much more flexible in terms of scheduling and deciding when to take it. So, inevitably I’ve met some seniors who are graduating. Some are even moving away from Chicago to pursue their careers. I know it isn’t a matter of life or death separation but it still makes me feel a bit sad thinking about the partings that will have to happen as people move on in life. Either due to family circumstances or career pursuits or even just the fact that some students aren’t from the area in general. Well, I guess it just makes the reunions more joyful? How do you deal with partings and farewells?
