With the end of the school year comes an annual mass-job-search by students who just got out of school. It’s hard to find a job because there’s so much competition. One way to get a leg up is to write a resume. A lot of teenagers don’t bother writing resumes because they think that they don’t have enough information to put in. But actually, most of us have enough experience to write a complete and compelling resume. To start, brainstorm about all the activities you’ve done during high school. It’s best if they were recent, but don’t exclude anything just because it happened in freshman year. There are different ways of putting this information into a resume and you can find templates online. The most important part is to develop a resume that has your most important achievements listed in an organized fashion. Once you’ve written a resume it’ll save you a lot of work in the future. A lot of jobs give you the option to just submit a resume instead of filling out an application. Most of us know how annoying it is to have to fill out 15 applications, so the idea that you can just submit a resume instead is really attractive. Plus, writing a resume now means you won’t forget things and it’ll be easier to update your resume in the future.
