The idea that each of us has a fix “amount” of intelligence is often considered our implicit explanation of why some people do better than some others in school. However, we often ignore the more advantageous backgrounds of those people. It is not another scapegoat for us to excuse ourselves out of school work, but rather a signal for us to work harder. A recent research shows that teen intelligence can shift as many as 20 IQ points, so we all still have chance to improve our intelligence. Study hard!
