It was my first day of freshman year and what surprised me the most was the way I reunited with my friends. Pregnant. It was something I could never forget, the girl I was once best friends with was 6 months pregnant. The girl who I’d always be with in 7th and 8th grade later on decided to try to get a baby after her miscarriage. They were only 16. I didn’t know how to react, slowly I saw more and more people I grew up with ended the same way. Teen aged pregnancy became very common for me, and I grew up with that. At the same time I knew I’d stay away from it. Most of the people I grew up with, when I speak to them and catch up, they all have babies and no time for college or any of the growing up part in them. They had to grow up quick for their kids. We were all kids wanting to just have fun, but that fun had consequences. It’s good to know to say no. Not everyone is having sex and it’s better to wait for the right person, before you bring in someone to this world.
