Schools cannot function if there are not any teachers or students. It is just an empty building but schools should never be empty or lacking teachers. The only reason why this may happen is because of a strike. My university has four unions that did not have contracts for a year. This fall semester came around and the unions were getting angrier. More talk was brought up for the university to do something about the issue. The news was getting out to the public so the Chancellor had to make it seem like it was no big deal. As of today the faculty union has not seen results and decided to strike. They want fair contracts that they can agree upon. But what about the students? How are we supposed to get the education that we paid for if the teachers are gone? If anyone is at a university where this could ever be a problem stick up and help.
