The other day my friends and I went to watch Arthur Christmas, an animated film. When we entered the theatre, one of them asked, “Is it bad that we’re not a child or a parent of a child?” I shrugged and assured them that it was fine. But I was thinking — is there a “too old” for certain hobbies? Yes, we know that there are older people who continue to pursue knowledge at colleges and that is acceptable. But how old is it before you can no longer pull off collecting stuffed animals, or watching cartoons, or other things deemed childish? I can understand how someone can be “too young” for something due to inexperience, but when you get to be “too old” — isn’t whatever you do an option you choose for yourself? Like, there was an 80 year old that went skydiving and most people would think, isn’t that too old for skydiving? But it was her choice. So why not? What do you think? Is there ever a “too old”?
