I can’t imagine a worse time to be on Facebook than during finals. It’s like an echo chamber of people complaining about their tests and papers. Everyone wants everyone else to know how hard they are working, and how they have been studying for x amount of hours, and oh yeah they just happen to be on Facebook updating their status every few minutes, but obviously that doesn’t mean they still aren’t studying like crazy!!1 I don’t know if these guys want to pretend they have a lot of work because everyone else does, or they really do have a lot to prepare for, but Facebook is a pretty harmful distraction this time of year. I don’t think it’s possible to really study while being on Facebook – the two activities are pretty much opposites. If you’re having trouble focusing, try studying in a place where distractions are at a minimum and where you won’t be tempted to compulsively browse someone’s photos. I promise: as soon as you finish your work, you can spend all the time you want scrutinizing your best friend’s new outfit.
