It’s been a while since I got my debit card, and managing it can be a bit difficult. We may have a tendency to buy things that we want forgetting the things that we need. In such case, opening and having your first bank account can be tricky and confusing at first, but with a bit of help it can be fairly simple. Having money is great and being able to spend it is good too, but having a limit is best. Going out of money in your bank account and being denied can be embarrassing especially if your out with friends, so checking it is essential to maintain your account and being able to manage it. This is when you may learn to write a check, pay for your own bills, and do your own personal shopping. Growing up to the age of 18 is something we all look forward too, but knowing the things that change is good too. From paying your own rent and phone bill, to being able to go to wild parties, but going out isn’t everything once you learn its risks that come with it, mainly the money ones. So be wise in where you go and how you use your money, and when you get your first credit card know that identity theft does happen, so be cautious about what you do and where and when you do it.
