Bullying is no laughing matter – it should always be taken seriously. It is not a problem that tends to just go away on its own.

If you are being bullied, it’s important that you seek out help. Talk to a trusted adult (parent, teacher, counselor, etc.) about what is going on.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, trying to find ways to cope with the stress may help. Receiving support whether it’s from friends, family members, therapy, or a support group is helpful.

There are also support hotlines where you can speak to someone on a 24/7 basis, including the National Runaway Safeline/1-800-RUNAWAY (1-800-786-2929) and National Suicide Hotline (1-800-273-8255).

Remember, you are never to blame for being the victim of bullying. Standing up against bullying can be scary but you are not alone and there is support available for you.
