Volunteers from NRS and Cubs Care served turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, salad, and more at the Thanksgiving dinner.

Tuesday, November 25, 2008 marked the 9th annual Thanksgiving Dinner hosted by the National Runaway Switchboard at Holy Trinity Church on Chicago's north side. The event was sponsored by NRS' 2008 Spirit of Youth Award Recipient Chicago Cubs Care Foundation and included 40 staff and volunteers from NRS and Cubs Care. The event brought together 96 runaway and homeless youth and staff from local community shelters. The night included a delicious dinner, survival kits, and photo mementos for youth.

Organizations present at the dinner included: The Night Ministry Open Door Shelter Lake View, The Night Ministry Open Door Shelter West Town, Teen Living Programs/ Belfort House, Alternatives Inc, Heartland Alliance Neon Street, and Center on Halsted.
