On June 9, 2009, the Coldwell Banker Charitable Foundation had a special fundraising event, hosted by the Coldwell Banker Lincoln Park Plaza office at the Playboy Atrium, to benefit the National Runaway Switchboard (NRS). NRS’ Executive Director, Maureen Blaha, spoke about the mission and history of NRS to attendees. In attendance were NRS Board Chair Rich Malone, CBS news reporter and anchor Jim Williams, Coldwell Banker Foundation, Coldwell Banker agents, and friends.
The event included a curator tour of the Playboy art collection, wine, appetizers provided by 2009 Spirit of Youth award recipient Chef Charlie Trotter, a raffle and a silent auction. The Coldwell Banker Charitable Foundation was able to raise $9,000 to benefit runaway and at-risk youth across the country. In addition, not only was the event able to raise funds, it also raised local attention in publications such as Chicago Social Magazine, Lincoln Booster, and Coldwell Banker Chicago region newsletter Weekly Update.
