Illinois State Representative John Fritchey and NRS Executive Director Maureen Blaha

On November 3, 2009, Illinois State Representative John Fritchey (D-Chicago) toured the National Runaway Switchboard in commemoration of the eighth annual National Runaway Prevention Month campaign. During his tour, Rep. Frichey was able to learn about the National Runaway Switchboard and how the 1-800-RUNAWAY crisis hotline operates.

"NRS has been in our community for over 3 decades and truly is, not only a state treasure, but also a national one, for the help that they provide to thousands of youth across the nation annually," stated Rep. Fritchey.

Rep. Fritchey also reached out to Illinois State Legislatures and Senators to inform them that November is National Runaway Prevention Month.
