On November 24th the National Runaway Switchboard (NRS) hosted the tenth annual Thanksgiving Dinner, sponsored by Cubs Care Foundation, held at St. Luke's Church in Chicago. NRS staff and Chicago Cubs volunteers served 90 local homeless youth a traditional thanksgiving meal which included: turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, stuffing, dinner rolls, dessert and beverages.
The youth were able to take part in a photo activity and received backpacks that included school supplies, hygiene supplies, socks, under garments, clothes, a McDonald's gift card, and a one-day pass for the CTA.

Youth were invited from local organizations including: The Night Ministry Open Door Shelter Lake View, The Night Ministry Open Door Shelter West Town, Center on Halsted, Teen Living Program/Belfort House, Heartland Alliance/Neon Street Program, Alternatives, Inc., La Casa Norte, and Boys and Girls Town Shelter.
