NRS receives grant from Cubs Care

On April 27, 2010, the Chicago Cubs teamed with the McCormick Foundation April 27 to announce more than $1 million in donations to almost 50 non-profit organizations serving those in need in the Chicago area. The event marked the sixth consecutive year more than $1 million has been donated to the community through Cubs Care, a fund of the McCormick Foundation. The National Runaway Switchboard received $6,000 to help feed local homeless youth during the Eleventh Annual Thanksgiving Dinner held in November. The Cubs Care Foundation have sponsored the event for several years. Other organizations that received funds included Center on Halsted, Howard Brown Health Center, Night Ministry and YWCA of Metropolitan Chicago.
