NRS’ 8th Annual Thanksgiving Dinner

On November 20th the National Runaway Switchboard hosted its 8th annual Thanksgiving Dinner at the Holy Trinity Church on Chicago’s north side. The event that was sponsored by the Chicago Cubs Care Foundation included 35 volunteers from NRS and Cubs Care, bringing together 85 runaway and homeless youth from local community shelters. The night included a delicious dinner, gift bags, and photo mementos for youth.

Organizations present at the dinner included: The Night Ministry Open Door Shelter Lake View, The Night Ministry Open Door Shelter West Town, Teen Living Programs/ Belfort House, Heartland Alliance/ Neon Street Program, Alternatives Inc, La Casa Norte, and the Boys and Girls Town Shelter.

NRS Executive Director, Maureen Blaha, gives a few remarks to the attendees before dinner is served.
