Member Julie Benson!

Why did you decide to run for NRS?

NRS was the first booth I stopped to visit at the Shamrock Shuffle Expo. I'm glad to know there is an organization out there for young kids to turn to for help.

Is this your first marathon? If not, is it your first Chicago Marathon?

This will be my fifth marathon and my first Chicago Marathon.

What goals do you have for yourself during training?

I hope to get through training without injury and to complete the marathon in a time that is my personal best.

Any tips for your teammates?

One of my favorite quotes says it all: "Progressing through life is like running a marathon. . . [It] requires a good start and a strong, consistent effort all the way to the finish." --Joseph B. Wirthlin

What’s a fun fact about yourself that you haven’t shared?

I was born and raised in Colorado and and am passionate about hiking, camping and climbing fourteeners (mountains that are 14,000+ feet).
