The National Runaway Switchboard, a 24-hour crisis line for at-risk youth and families, seeks a trainer. This position will provide support to the training and education manager in developing and implementing an internal continuing education program. Provide staff and volunteer training for the 1-800-RUNAWAY crisisline, online crisis chat program and the Illinois CCBYS information and referral line. Recruit and supervise undergraduate interns. The position will answer calls and chats to our 24/7 phone lines.

 

We are seeking a creative candidate with volunteer experience, great relational skills, an interest in/knowledge of youth issues and culture, and excellent written and verbal skills. This position requires great patience, a passion for teaching, and the ability to work with diverse groups of people. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field and applicable work experience and/or internship or work study placement in a social service environment. The position requires a flexible schedule must be able to work at least two weekend days and at least eight evenings a month. Knowledge of Windows-based computers, experience with Word, Excel, Publisher and the Internet a must. The position pay range is in the upper $20’s, depending on experience.
