In 2015, NRS handled 12,120 hotline crisis connections and 8,624 crisis chats, emails and forum connections for a total of 20,744 crisis interventions where solution-focused plans were developed.More statistics
NRS relies heavily on the support of individuals. Last year, 226 frontline team members and other volunteers provided 11,580 service hours to ensure NRS operated optimally 24/7/365. In addition, 408 Street Team Members canvassed the country to make certain every youth knows 1-800-RUNAWAY and 1800RUNAWAY.org connects to help.Learn more

NRS receives a multi-year federal grant to serve as the national communication system for runaway and homeless youth. The remaining 15-30% of the operating budget is funded through private sources. NRS raises money through foundation and corporate grants, special events and individual donations.
