The other day I decided to eat lunch in a park near the Lake (instead of the cafeteria with my friends) when a bunch of high schoolers (or were they elementary school kids cutting school? I can’t really tell anymore because of how they acted) passed and laughed at me and said really loudly, “Haha, that girl’s all alone”. I think they were trying to incite my reaction, but I know that reacting somehow will just cause them to laugh derisively even more. Whenever something like that happens (which is really rare because most people aren’t so immature as to stop and deliberately laugh at someone), I just laugh to myself later on because it’s absurd how people react sometimes. I never knew that eating lunch (by yourself) in a park when the weather is nice is the stuff of classic comedy. Yes, I’ll make sure to remember that when I see someone sitting by themselves on a bench reading a book, or someone waiting alone at the bus stop that I’ll go and laugh at them because it is ZOMGSH SO FUNNY!!11!! Okay, so that incident really irritated me enough so that I wanted to make a cutting remark about them. But from experience I know that it really is just best to ignore those things (unless they’re harassing you to the point where they’re threatening you, then, well that’s when you gotta ask for help or report these people). It’s ridiculous what people will do to try put others down somehow.
