Wow I said to myself as I entered through the front entrance of Harold Washington College. I am finally an official college student. I have been waiting for this moment since I was 12 years old. I was ecstatic to see my peers rushing to their first day of class. I was intrigued by the smell of fresh books and number 2 pencils. I recieved my u-pass and waited anxiously for my class to begin; man was I ready!
I only had one course today, sociology. The teacher was an older woman who of course talked alot, and alot and alot. We began the class by reading the class syllabus and ended with and icebreaker, learning facts about our surrounding peers. We spoke briefly about our future studies and I grew extremely excited. I can’t remember when the start of something new ever felt this great! I was disappointed as the class dismissed but excited to what the next day may bring!
Starting something new is usually an exciting moment. You are nervous yet anxious as to where your adventure may travel. It is always wonderful to try something new even if it turns out to be something that you dislike. I believe that we as people should always give things in life a chance and learn from those moments.Things may not proceed as planned but it deserves a try. I encourage you to go out and try something new. Maybe you will learn something about yourself that you never knew. I cant wait to see what my journey may bring and where it may take me. I am just going to kick back and enjoy the ride of starting something new!
