More and more often, we are seeing runaway youth reach out to us on social media sites as well as on our blog. Here is how you can access our services.
How Youth Can Get Help Through Social Media
We serve runaway youth who are in need of help, are at-risk of running away, or who are already on the street. Our goal is to be able to reach runaway youth in order to keep them safe and off the street. We make contact with youth in need through our hotline number, 1-800-RUNAWAY, and through our website, 1800RUNAWAY.org. We have the ability to reach youth by email available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and our live chat function is available at various times of the day.
More and more often, we are seeing youth reach out to us on social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, as well as on our blog. This may be for several reasons: younger people are more likely to access differently through alternative channels. This increase may be a response to our initiative to increase our presence on social media, as well as our increased blogging efforts.

If you want to send us a message through Instagram, click on the icon at the top right of the Instagram screen, and then the “+” sign that appears at the top right corner. Then you can search for NRS by entering “1800runaway” into the search function.
We have youth and parents comment on our blogs with questions on their situations. We try to supply useful information on our blog, but often our readers need more information.
