NRS has served as the NCS since 1974. The only organization to hold that distinction.
The National Runaway Safeline (NRS) recently received a three-year award to continue serving the country as the national communication system for runaway and homeless youth (NCS). At its October 5th all-staff meeting, NRS’ team gathered in gratitude for the opportunity to continue to serve runaway, homeless and at-risk youth and their families. Through a cooperative agreement with the Family & Youth Services Bureau, The Administration for Children, Youth & Families, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, NRS’ 1-800-RUNAWAY hotline, NRS’ text line at 66008, and 1800RUNAWAY.org online crisis services continue without interruption 24/7/365. NRS has served as the NCS since 1974. The only organization to hold that distinction.
