The Prevention & Youth Engagement Coordinator is a key member of NRS’ Engagement team. They have significant responsibility for building national awareness and visibility for NRS and the issues impacting runaway and homeless youth. They will serve as a primary brand ambassador for the organization, disseminating information about NRS’ services, resources, prevention strategies and community engagement efforts.
The Prevention & Youth Engagement Coordinator will also lead NRS’ work to significantly grow outreach and engagement efforts with youth across the country including expansion of the NRS Youth Advisory Board (YAB). They will have an essential role developing content for program materials, facilitating meetings, conducting presentations, developing strategic partnerships, engaging participation in prevention initiatives and organizing national awareness events including National Runaway Prevention Month. This role will report to the Chief Engagement Officer and will work collaboratively with all levels of staff and the public at large.
The Prevention & Youth Engagement Coordinator role is a full-time position with a preferred primary work location of Chicago. Chicago-based NRS staff members are currently working remote during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Candidates in the DC Metro area will also be considered. Upon resumption of safe travel activities, this position requires approximately 25% travel for conferences and trainings. Some evening and weekend hours will be required.
The ideal candidate brings a high level of energy and innovation and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility, strong organizational skills, effective written and oral communication skills, proven experience with data analytics and quality assurance/improvement, and a nuanced understanding of NRS’ diverse and broad audiences will be key for success in this role. This position reports to the Director of Training & Quality Assurance and will work collaboratively with all levels of staff. The Quality Assurance Coordinator will be instrumental in assisting the organization with meeting its goal for doubling the number of youth served by NRS by the end of 2021.
The Quality Assurance Coordinator position is based in Chicago and will be temporarily remote during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Some evening and weekend hours will be required.
