NRS relies heavily on the support of individuals. Last year, 226 frontline team members and other volunteers provided 11,580 service hours to ensure NRS operated optimally 24/7/365. In addition, 408 Street Team Members canvassed the country to make certain every youth knows 1-800-RUNAWAY and 1800RUNAWAY.org connects to help.Learn more

NRS receives a multi-year federal grant to serve as the national communication system for runaway and homeless youth. The remaining 15-30% of the operating budget is funded through private sources. NRS raises money through foundation and corporate grants, special events and individual donations.
