The National Runaway Safeline is honored and privileged to have a group of dedicated and generous people on its board of directors. NRS asked board members if they would share their thoughts on why they choose to support NRS and its services.
The latest entry of the Board on Board Series is from one of the newest members, the Director of Human Resources at Exelon, Jeoffrey Chorvat.
I had the privilege of being elected to the Board for the National Runaway Safeline in 2017. I am honored to be working with such dedicated men and women. I approach my role through a few lenses; as a parent, as a professional and as a member of my community.
As a parent, we see our kids facing challenges we’ve never experienced in this internet age. Social media has changed the landscape. I want to ensure that our children have access to resources that help them. Every child deserves to feel safe.
As a member of a community, I appreciate the fact that I can dedicate my time and energy to an established organization that has a track record of integrity, high performance and a thoughtful mission, to keep America’s runaway, homeless and at-risk youth safe and off the streets.
As a professional and leader in corporate America, I coach and guide professionals on a daily basis. There have been instances where we must engage professional organizations to help an employee get the help they need. I have experienced the positive impact non-for-profit organizations have on individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
Since joining, I’ve been so impressed with everyone I’ve met, other board members, staff and many volunteers. Their dedication and passion truly is remarkable.
