Volunteer Orientation
Did you know every year 4.2 million youth experience homelessness?
1 out of 30 youth ages 13-17 and 1 out of 10 young people ages 18-25 endured some form of homelessness such as couch surfing, living on the streets or staying in a shelter. The National Runaway Safeline is looking for dedicated, compassionate volunteers ages 16 and over to help keep youth safe and off the streets.
Our volunteers work directly to youth and families seeking vital resources in their community through our online services. Youth reach out to us seeking shelter, food and mental health services or sometimes they are simply looking for someone who will listen without judgement.
You can help make a difference in someone’s life!
We are looking for crisis line volunteers who can commit to 2-4 hours a week regularly for 6 months. Our volunteers are trained to provide solution-focused crisis intervention through our Live Chat via www.1800runaway.org and other online services that include forums and e-mail.
Please join us for a 1 hour orientation session
You’ll learn more about the history, commitment and expectations of NRS Volunteers. A link to the event will be sent out to those who register. Thank you! We can’t wait to meet you!
