Services for the hearing impaired

National Runaway Safeline

Keeping America’s runaway, homeless and at-risk youth safe and off the streets.

Between 1.6 and 2.8 million youth run away in a year.

Call 1-800-RUNAWAY if you are a teenager who is thinking of running from home, if you have a friend who has run and is looking for help, or if you are a runaway ready to go home.

Call 1-800-RUNAWAY if you care about a youth and want information on how you can help someone who may be at risk of running from home.

Call 1-800-RUNAWAY if you are a teacher looking for information to pass along to your students about youth homelessness or the reality of life on the streets.

Our 24-hour crisis line has an experienced front-line team member ready to help you now. If you're not ready to call, you can post to our bulletin board, send an email, or start a live chat. It’s anonymous, confidential and free.

Our services are provided in part through funding from Family and Youth Services Bureau in the Administration for Children and Families, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The "Because of youCampaign

The "Because of you" campaign is your opportunity to pay it forward by acknowledging the caretakers in your life who helped keep you safe from harm. The National Runaway Safeline (NRS) makes 250,000 connections annually to help and hope. Through our network of more than 10,000 resources we help runaway, homeless and at-risk youth find shelter, food, transportation and safety. By making a donation today in honor of a loved one, you can acknowledge everything they did on your behalf, while simultaneously helping NRS continue to invest in the wellbeing of youth throughout the country who would otherwise have nowhere to turn.

Simply click on the card below to send to your loved one (there are four additional options on our campaign page). Once you select your card, you will be directed to a donor form to make a donation of $25 or more to NRS that will help provide options to keep youth safe. Express your gratitude and complete a personalized message in the card below. Thank you.
